I Like It Chunky

As we leave the year 2013 behind, we embrace the new year with the anticipation of making it a good one. Or pray that it'll be a good one. Here's to new challenges, new friends, new knowledge, and hopefully, new successes! And let's make a crap-load of money while we are at it!

During the holidays, I'd usually stay away from Manhattan as it gets a little congested and chaotic with tourists. Living across the river, I've seen NYC in every holiday, in every season, in every weather and in every light of day. Going on a mini New York hiatus during the month of December wouldn't make me cry a river. But as much as I tell myself this, I occasionally like to play the role of a tourist and just wander through the concrete jungle, basking in and taking pictures of every cliche tourist spots you can think of. It doesn't matter if the Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Center is the same tree every year, or that Central Park still looks like...well a park, the aura of the holiday season somehow makes the city a lot warmer (despite the 30 degree weather, of course).

Knowing that I would be out in the cold all day, I stuck to my basic items to keep me warm and comfortable - especially my high-waisted jeans because nothing beats a warm tummy! My most important winter essentials that I had to bring along is my new favorite Zara scarf. This has got to be the best scarf I have ever purchased. What I lacked in layers, my scarf itself can double as a sweater. I've literally worn this bad boy everyday since I bought it. And when the cold wind gets too much to bear, I would wrap the scarf around my head and disappear.
