Fall Lessons

Photos by Justin Pizzi

There's this quote that always make its rounds on the World Wide Web this time of year. It goes something like this: Now the trees are about to show us how beautiful it is to let dead things go.

Beautiful, realistic and corny. Just the way I like it. It truly spits some straight Mother Nature truth if I have to say so myself.

I love fall (and so does about 80% of the population), but I specifically love the change in the air. This is like New Years to me. I reflect and I seek good healthy changes. Even if it's for a short while, but the fact that I know that it needed to be addressed is still good enough for me. Ignorance is not bliss if you don't recognize and part with friends who shits on your success and hit up your ex on Tindr, but anywho...

This year, not only do I seek changes, I count my blessings in all the adjustments I've made. My persepective, my inner circle, my resisdency, my hair, clothes, my diet (not much on this but still working on it), they all made me so different now than I was last year. Amazing how I look back and see that my life just 12 months ago is not the same as it is now.

So when I see the leaves changing, as I feel the cold breeze pass through me, as I throw on my blanket scarf just to hide the chill and still pass through the days with not wearing pants, I feel brand new and forever grateful. Now, bring on the holiday season!
