In Support Of: Monochrome

When our friend Aileen of The Style Boro rallied Lynn, Erika and I for a shoot with In Support Of - a multi labeled boutique in the Meatpacking District - we had no idea what we can make of this. And so we met up over desserts because that's what creatives do. We indulged physically and metamorphically vommited ideas. I really wanted to use that metaphor - bear with me.

The clothes were beautiful but it wasn't something we've played with before. It is because every product were strong enough alone as its own statement piece. As a rule, too much of a good thing can be bad (never candy, ice cream or sleep). So how can we style an entire outfit without looking like you tried too hard using only the boutique's clothes? Sounds like an insane #firstworldproblem.

We decided on themes - two sets of pictures - monochrome and print. This challenged us to stay within our aesthetic and color scheme, all while using clothes that aren't main stream and pretty much one-of-a-kind. And I will always and forever fck with that.

Side note: Wearing the feather jacket in 40 degree NYC weather taught me that birds got it right all along. Feathers keep you warm as hell! Forget the sheep!

Stay tune for our next set! It's my faveee.
